Since a childhood passion for gardening and many hours watching and helping family make jam (always described as Tickety Boo quality) it was logical to combine the two and make our own jam from fruit grown at home.
Years spent establishing trees and bushes and practising on family and friends with traditional and modern recipes and flavours led to the decision to establish Tickety Boo Jam as a business and registered trade mark in 2012.
Dumfries and Galloway was our choice of location for several reasons, fertile soil, the scenery which is tremendous, the reputation as an area which produces great local food, arts and crafts. Tradition is alive and well in all aspects of life, a philosophy which is carried into our production methods. Small batch, open pans and hand made with no artificial additions.
In recent years there has been a growing awareness of the importance of the provenance of the food we eat, and the concerns over additives. Traceability is important to us, as with larger companies, so we do all we can to ensure only high quality, locally sourced natural ingredients are used in our home produced jams, chutneys and marmalades. In order to maintain quality we cooperate with environmental health and local trading standards to ensure your products are high quality, full of flavour and excellent value. As a member of the Guild of Jam and Preserve Makers maintaining excellence is a passion.
